Orthopaedic rehabilitation, or rehab, is a program to help people recover from musculoskeletal injuries, diseases or surgeries. This includes conditions that affect the muscles, bones, joints, ligaments and tendons.

TKR- Total Knee Replacement
Joints in the knees become painful after a certain age due to arthritis, osteoarthritis, defects in cartilage and ligament, often resulting in knee replacement. This is carried out by replacing the surfaces of the knee joints with metals. Post-surgery rehabilitation procedures that involve physical therapy and Balance training are essential to help patients regain their physical balance and independence.
Our post-surgery rehab team of experts provides personalized care for post knee replacement patients to achieve higher mobility and flexibility. We are equipped with experienced physio team and nursing assistants to facilitate optimal recovery.
The objective of our knee replacement rehabilitation therapy is to
- Reduce the pain & Swelling associated with Surgery
- Improve the flexibility
- Improve Gait ability
- Enable accelerated wound healing
- Awareness and education on prevention of future injury
Total Hip Replacement
Hip or femur fractures at an old age and sever Hip osteoarthritis are treated through hip replacement, which entails replacement of the hip joint with a prosthetic. A part of the femur bone, starting from its head, is replaced with an artificial metal ball.
Post-surgery rehabilitation procedures that involve
- Gait training
- Balance training
- Strengthening of hip and lower extremity muscles
- Flexibility and Range of motion exercises
- Accelerate the wound healing
- Prevent relapse of surgery or dislocation of joint
- Awareness and education on prevention of future injury
These essential measures to enable the patients to recover. So getting into a rehabilitation facility is highly recommended at least for the first month.
Post-ACL Reconstructive surgery
ACL reconstruction is surgery to replace a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), a major ligament in your knee. ACL injuries most commonly occur during sports that involve sudden stops and changes in direction — such as basketball, soccer, football, downhill skiing and gymnastics
The major goals of rehabilitation of the ACL-injured knee:
- Gain good functional stability
- Repair muscle strength
- Reach the best possible functional level
- Decrease the risk for re-injury
Post-Fracture/Dislocation surgery
For patients suffering from multiple traumatic injuries, it is important to go through a process of post-treatment orthopaedic rehabilitation that includes limb exercises, balance training, Gait Training, Mobilization techniques and to help re-integrate into their normal independent lives.
Sports Injury
Sports injuries occur during exercise or while participating in a sport. Children are particularly at risk for these types of injuries, but adults can get them, too.
You’re at risk for sports injuries if you:
- Haven’t been regularly active
- Haven’t warm up properly before exercise
- Play contact sports
Types of sports injuries
Different sports injuries produce different symptoms and complications. The most common types of sports injuries include:
- Sprains
- Overstretching or tearing the ligaments results in a sprain. Ligaments are pieces of tissue that connect two bones to one another in a joint.
- Strains
- Overstretching or tearing muscles or tendons results in a sprain. Tendons are thick, fibrous cords of tissue that connect bone to muscle. Strains are commonly mistaken for sprains. Here’s how tell them apart.
- Knee injuries
- Any injury that interferes with how the knee joint moves could be a sports injury. It could range from an overstretch to a tear in the muscles or tissues in the knee.
- Swollen muscles
- Swelling is a natural reaction to an injury. Swollen muscles may also be painful and weak.
- Rotator cuff injury
- Four pieces of muscle work together to form the rotator cuff. The rotator cuff keeps your shoulder moving in all directions. A tear in any of these muscles can weaken the rotator cuff.
- Achilles tendon rupture
- The Achilles tendon is a thin, powerful tendon at the back of your ankle. During sports, this tendon can break or rupture. When it does, you may experience sudden, severe pain and difficulty walking.
What is a Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist?

Amputation
Experiencing pain after limb amputations is common. With the help of the correct Physiotherapy and rehabilitation procedures involving physical exercises, and, balance training patients can hasten the period of recovery and soon return to normalcy.
Arthritis
Arthritis is the swelling and tenderness of one or more of your joints. The main symptoms of arthritis are joint pain and stiffness, which typically worsen with age. The most common types of arthritis are osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis
